Build Your Perfect Summer Golf Trip with Dormie Network
Your Guide to Summer Golf Travel Across Dormie Network’s Private Golf Destinations
The summer months of June, July, and August mark peak golf season—when longer days and extended sunlight create more time for the game and the people you enjoy it with most. Dormie Network, seven private courses in one membership, is designed to elevate the game’s natural way of bringing people together. With onsite lodging and a dedicated concierge handling every detail, you’re free to focus on what matters most: time spent together.
Summer also brings the gift of time. With school out, schedules loosening, and the longest days of the year stretching well into the evening, there has never been a better moment to gather your people and go. With our southernmost club, Briggs Ranch, taking its seasonal rest, six Dormie Network clubs are open, primed, and waiting.
This is your guide to planning a summer golf trip to a Dormie Network club.
Golf: Play From Sunrise to Sunset
For those who want to play as much golf as possible, there’s no better time of year. Summer brings extended daylight across all Dormie Network golf clubs, and 15-minute tee times keep a relaxed pace of play. Being the westernmost properties, GrayBull Club and ArborLinks, both in Nebraska, enjoy some of the longest playing windows in the Network, with daylight until nearly 10 pm. At Ballyhack in Roanoke, Virginia, the golf course is known to provide drier and firmer conditions in the summertime.
Dormie Network courses are designed for playability at every level. Multiple tee boxes, generous fairways, and a forecaddie mean the low-handicapper and the enthusiastic beginner can play the same routing and both walk off smiling. When 18 isn't quite enough, a second loop is always an option. And when 18 isn't in the plan, there's still plenty of golf to be had. Each club offers a driving range, putting greens, and short game areas to keep everyone sharp and entertained. At Ballyhack, the Goat Trak par-3 loop is a fan favorite for a quick, low-stakes round the whole group can enjoy.
Golf professionals are available for personalized instruction, whether you're looking to work on a specific part of your game, get the family into a group lesson, or set the kids up with a clinic while the adults play. Putting competitions are always a hit—a great way to settle friendly bets and keep the competitive spirit alive long after the round.
Lodging: Entertaining and Relaxing Retreats
Dormie Network cottages are designed to feel like an immersive retreat, not a hotel room. Spacious, inviting, and thoughtfully appointed, each cottage features private master suites and summer-ready essentials stocked before you arrive. Many also include locally sourced snacks and beverage selections, offering families a fun way to sample regional flavors and feel more connected to the destination. From the moment you walk in, everything is set so you can simply settle in and enjoy.
For those who like to stay close to the game, several accommodations offer direct access to practice facilities:
Northwoods Complex (8-Plex, 12-Plex, Owner’s Cottage) at ArborLinks has its own private putting green and chipping area
Cottage #2 at Victoria National is just steps away from the lit driving range
Premier Cottages at Victoria National have close access to chipping and putting areas
The Shore House at Hidden Creek has a private putting green
When the sun goes down, the cottages continue to shine. Every club offers lodging with inviting spaces to gather, relax, and entertain. The Owner’s Cottages at ArborLinks, Ballyhack, Dormie Club, and GrayBull offer the most expansive accommodations in the Network, paired with its most entertainment amenities. Game night gets an upgrade with billiards, golf simulators, poker, Golden Tee, and plenty of room to unwind together. Prefer a slower evening? Pour a drink, light the fire pit, and replay the day’s best shots. Need a late-night snack? Just ask—we’ll bring it to your door.
It’s a natural balance: activity when you want it, stillness when you don’t, and everything thoughtfully within reach.
Culinary: Summer, Served Fresh
Sweet summer arrives in full flavor at Dormie Network.
The season is filled with thoughtful surprises designed for long, sun-soaked days. Cool off at the turn with a handmade ice cream sandwich or a refreshing frozen transfusion during a warm afternoon on the course.
Summer menus celebrate the season with fresh fruits, vibrant vegetables, and fare that’s perfectly suited to the moment. For those seeking something even more elevated, private wine tastings and Chef’s Table dining experiences offer memorable evenings centered around exceptional food and company.
From casual indulgences to refined culinary moments, summer is served beautifully here.
Mascots: Collect Your Favorite Dormie Friends
Summer is an especially great time of year for a family trip. Part of what makes it unforgettable is the cast of animal companions that call our courses home. On course, keep your eyes peeled for turtles gliding through the waters at Victoria National, goats ready for a snack at Ballyhack, Snickers the Duck making the rounds at Dormie Club, and—before Briggs Ranch slips into its summer off-season—mini longhorns Jack and Jose grazing nearby.
And soon, there will be even more reason for younger guests to stay alert. These familiar friends will begin showing up as part of a children’s scavenger hunt at the clubs.
Once you’ve met the crew, stop by the golf shop and take home a plush mascot version.
Merchandise: Shop the Latest
Every Dormie Network club features a thoughtfully curated golf shop stocked with the season’s latest apparel, accessories, and equipment.
Expect fresh summer colorways, lightweight performance fabrics, and exclusive club merchandise you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you need an extra layer for an early tee time, a new cap for the weekend, or something memorable to mark the trip, the golf shop is always a good idea.
