Lodging at Victoria National: What to Expect

Victoria National Premier Cottages with connected wings on hole 18 near the clubhouse

Victoria National | Newburgh, Indiana

When you’re playing the #1 ranked golf course in Indiana, you can expect more than just world-class golf—you can expect an unforgettable stay in luxury accommodations. At Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana, the lodging experience is thoughtfully designed to complement the championship golf, exceptional dining, and genuine hospitality for which Dormie Network is known.

Onsite lodging is where each memorable day begins and ends, with cottages that redefine what an overnight golf destination should feel like.

When Dormie Network acquired Victoria National in 2018, the well-established club had some existing lodging near holes 10 and 11. Since then, Dormie Network expanded the lodging offerings under the guidance of Sinclaire Hille Architects to seamlessly blend with the property’s original architecture. These new additions were completed in spring 2022, preserving the club’s signature aesthetic while enhancing the guest experience.

Today, the property offers 68 beds across 15 total cottages, allowing groups of all sizes the opportunity to experience Victoria National together, while maintaining the privacy and comfort that discerning golfers appreciate. With sumptuous king suites, shared elegant living spaces, and breezy screened-in patios, the cottages at Victoria National deliver Southern luxury just moments away from top 100 golfing action

Cottage Design: A Nod to Southern Indiana’s Industrial Roots

Located on a former coal mine site, Victoria National’s architecture reflects the rugged, industrial heritage of Southern Indiana while maintaining a warm atmosphere. The clubhouse sets the tone with exposed wood beams, expansive windows, and natural décor elements—from the coffee station in the lobby to repurposed gears and cranks used as furniture accents on the private dining room tables.

The cottages continue this theme. The exterior showcases rustic wood, while the interior offers a welcoming, upscale retreat. You’ll find industrial-inspired details, such as metalwork, gears, and reclaimed materials woven into tables and décor, all paired with soft textures and inviting furnishings that evoke the charm of southern hospitality.

Lodging Options at Victoria National: Two Cottage Types

Victoria National has two types of cottages: Dormie Cottages and Premier Cottages. Both offer comfort, privacy, and upscale amenities, but each is slightly tailored for different group sizes and preferences.

The property features 10 Dormie Cottages and 5 Premier Cottages, with two of the Premier Cottages offering attached wings—each wing housing four bedrooms with two queen beds per room. This design allows for flexible accommodation, perfect for both smaller groups and larger gatherings looking to stay close while still enjoying private sleeping quarters. Some cottages are large enough to host meetings.

Dormie Cottage Living Room

Dormie Cottage Living Room

Dormie Cottages offer a single-level layout featuring four private king bedroom suites. These cottages include a spacious common area, a wet bar, and a private outdoor patio and fire pit. Dormie Cottages are ideal for those who plan to spend most of their time on the course or enjoying the club’s amenities, while still wanting a quiet, intimate space to unwind at the end of the day.

Premier Cottage Living Room

Premier Cottages feature everything the Dormie Cottage has, but with a larger common area, fireplace, steam showers, and an extended wet bar. Concierge Bryce Gilbert recommends Premier Cottages for corporate client hosting and group entertainment, because they have chipping and putting areas, Golden Tee, and shuffleboard. If your group wants a little more room to spread out, entertain, or impress, Premier Cottages are the way to go.

Tip: Ask your concierge about booking live music when you stay in the Premier Cottages on hole 18 with attached wings. These cottages (5-6W) have a conjoined patio and a large outdoor patio with a 90 inch TV.

Choosing a Cottage for Your Group

Choosing the right cottage at Victoria National depends on the size and style of your group. For larger groups of around 16 guests, Bryce recommends cottages 1, 2, 3, and 4, or the connected set of cottages 5-6W. These layouts allow for proximity between cottages, making it easy for everyone to gather in one central spot, like cottage 2, which has access to the lit driving range.

For smaller groups, Bryce suggests cottages 11, 12, and 13 because they are close to the lit-up putting green.

The Premier Cottages along hole 18 with connected wings (cottages 5–6W) can be used as one large 8–12 person cottage or split into smaller units, offering maximum flexibility.

Tip: Book a Premier Cottage with a poker table if your group likes to keep the competition going after your round.

Customize Your Cottage Experience

After breaking a sweat playing Tom Fazio’s design (one of the most challenging courses in America), it’s easy to unwind in the cottages. Consider these trip add-ons that elevate your stay.

Assistant General Manager Kari Rodgers and Food and Beverage Director Dustin Bergman work closely with groups on selecting cottage dinner menus. These private dining experiences are especially popular in the fall with football games on TV.

Merchandise Manager Carson Greenwell can arrange custom welcome gifts for guests. The most requested items? Hats, ball markers, and sleeves of balls—but really, the sky’s the limit. From flasks and drinkware to shirts, towels, or socks, if you want it waiting in your cottage, the team will make it happen.

The golf shop team can create custom games, scorecards, tournament setups, and scoreboards for your group’s matches, with the final tallies displayed right inside your cottage for evening bragging rights.

If your group has a favorite bottle of wine, specific spirits, or snack preferences, the team can pre-stock your cottage with all your favorites—just let your concierge know when booking.
