A true test of tenacity.

Victoria National is a private golf club in Newburgh, Indiana, designed by Tom Fazio. Victoria National became the sixth club to join Dormie Network when it was acquired in 2018. The course spans 418 acres of reclaimed coal mine landscape and holds over 500 million gallons of water. The club is recognized by Golf Digest as the No. 1 course in Indiana and a top 100 course in America.

Victoria National is an ideal destination for building relationships, whether through group golf trips, business retreats, or family leisure travel. Onsite amenities include onsite cottage lodging, smokehouse-inspired cuisine, a boutique golf shop, and a concierge team to coordinate logistics and trip planning. As part of Dormie Network membership, access to the club and its amenities is reserved for members and their invited guests.

A Top 100 by Tom Fazio

The golf course at Victoria National is an 18-hole inland links-style layout designed by Tom Fazio. Visually stunning and fiercely challenging, the course features water on 17 of its 18 holes, earning it a spot among Golf Digest’s most challenging courses in America. The crown jewel of the layout is its final five-hole stretch, known as "The Gauntlet." This closing sequence presents one of the most formidable and breathtaking tests in all of golf. Onsite golf amenities also include a driving range, two putting greens, and a head golf professional.

To preserve the private club experience, tee times at Victoria National are spaced at generous 15-minute intervals. This minimizes course traffic and ensures pristine course conditions year-round. The tradition of caddies remains an essential part of the Victoria National experience, with caddie and forecaddie services providing valuable course knowledge, strategic guidance, and personalized support throughout each round.

The Clubhouse at Victoria National

Dormie Network has announced plans for a new clubhouse at Victoria National—further elevating the member experience at the No. 1-ranked course in the state. The new two-level clubhouse will span approximately 28,000 square feet and will be built on the site of the existing clubhouse. Thoughtfully designed to enhance both arrival and flow throughout the day, the completely reimagined clubhouse will introduce expanded spaces for gathering, dining, and relaxation. Spaces will include a primary dining room, private meeting and dining room, Café Vic, an Owner’s Lounge, outdoor deck, and locker rooms. The clubhouse architecture will embrace a cohesive aesthetic inspired by the regional landscape and the site’s coal mining heritage.

Club operations will continue as usual throughout the 2026 season. Once the season concludes, demolition of the existing clubhouse will begin, making way for the new facility. Victoria National will be open during construction of the new clubhouse in 2027, with operations relocated to cottages five and six. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2028, in time for the season.

An Upscale Cottage Retreat

Lodging at Victoria National combines upscale comfort with warm hospitality across 15 private onsite cottages. Accommodating up to 68 guests across 60 bedrooms, options include 10 Dormie Cottages and five Premier Cottages—two of which feature attached accommodation wings offering four bedrooms with two queen beds each.

During construction of the new clubhouse in 2027, available lodging capacity will temporarily adjust to 44 bedrooms, while members and their guests continue to enjoy the same top golf experience that defines Victoria National.

Situated just steps from the course and a quick golf cart ride to the clubhouse, cottages offer effortless access throughout your stay. Amenities and entertainment features vary by cottage type, allowing members to select the cottage that best suits their trip. All cottage units include private master suites with en-suite bathrooms, common seating areas, and wet bars. The spacious layouts provide flexible settings for small meetings, private dinners, and casual gatherings after a day on the course. Guest services are managed onsite by a dedicated hospitality team.

American Smokehouse Cuisine

Casually elegant and unpretentious, the culinary program at Victoria National highlights true Midwestern American cuisine, led by the club's executive chef. Menus evolve with the seasons, spotlighting locally sourced ingredients and deeply rooted regional flavors, with a special focus on barbecue and smoked meats that showcase Midwest and Southern influences. Guests can further personalize their experience with custom dining options like a private dinner delivered to the cottage, specialty cocktails, or guided bourbon tastings.

During construction of the new clubhouse, the dining room will temporarily transition to cottages five and six. While seating will be more limited, members and their guests can enjoy private, family-style meals delivered directly to their cottage—creating an intimate setting to gather, connect, and unwind.

The Turtle Shack, the on-course comfort station, offers food and beverage options to suit every taste—frozen treats, cold beverages, grab-and-go snacks, and a grill serving made-to-order items throughout the day. Café Vic, on the lower level of the clubhouse, is also a great spot to grab a meal, snack, or beverage mid-round.
