The Design & Details of Victoria National’s New Clubhouse
Dormie Network recently announced plans to enhance the member experience at Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana, with a fully reimagined clubhouse. Thoughtfully designed, the new facility balances expansive gathering spaces with intimate retreats, offering seamless transitions from arrival to the course. Every detail will reflect the sophistication and character of Indiana’s top-ranked golf course.
Victoria National Clubhouse Timeline
Operations at Victoria National will continue as usual throughout the 2026 season, running from late March through early November. Once the season concludes, demolition of the existing clubhouse will begin, making way for the new facility.
Construction is expected to be completed by early 2028, in time for the season. During the build, staff will operate from two onsite cottages, ensuring seamless service for members. Throughout this period, 44 rooms will remain available for members and their guests to enjoy the experience at Victoria National.
The Clubhouse Experience
"The new clubhouse is going to be far more conducive to entertainment, whether for a group of four or 24. It will give our membership something they can be proud of when hosting friends, family, or clients,” says Victoria National General Manager Brad Wilson.
The new two-level clubhouse at Victoria National will span approximately 28,000 square feet, thoughtfully designed to bring people together. Expansive yet intimate, the spaces are tailored for everything from full campus takeovers to smaller, more personal gatherings—each one grounded in connection, comfort, and the shared experience of the game.
From the moment you arrive, the seamless destination experience begins to unfold. A new drop-off roundabout welcomes guests with ease, where staff greet you by name, handle your bags, and set a tone of anticipatory hospitality that carries throughout your stay.
Step inside, and the design begins to guide you. A continuous limestone wall draws you forward, subtly leading the way through the clubhouse and out toward the course beyond. Along the way, each space reveals itself. To the left, the golf shop and locker rooms. To the right, the primary dining room and full-service bar invite you over—whether for a quiet coffee before your round or a well-earned drink as the day winds down.

Clubhouse Design: Architecture Rooted in Place
Sinclair Hille, a Lincoln, Nebraska-based architecture firm behind all of Dormie Network’s capital improvements, is the architect on record for the project. The clubhouse will have a cohesive aesthetic inspired by the regional landscape and the site’s coal mine history.
“Drawing from the history and regional character of the site, the new clubhouse offers a contemporary interpretation of agrarian or rural vernacular architecture. The design reinterprets traditional rural forms through a restrained material palette, simplified massing, and hospitality-focused indoor spaces.”
-Sinclair Hille
The overall form will be composed of four distinct volumes, a subtle nod to classic farmstead structures or agrarian building archetypes, which reinforces a sense of familiarity and place.
On the exterior, a locally sourced limestone base will anchor the building. Reflecting the area’s natural geology, the material quietly connects the structure to the land beneath it.
Above this limestone base, much of the clubhouse will be clad in a combination of horizontal lap siding and vertical board-and-batten siding. These siding types relate to traditional architecture, while their varying patterns and textures introduce a subtle sense of movement and help break down the overall scale of the building. The muted tone of the siding coordinates with the stone and sand found throughout the course, standing in stark contrast to Indiana’s vast blue skyline.
Charcoal-colored metal roofing and dark steel accents nod to the industrial history of the site and the durability required for a project situated within a Midwestern climate. The standing seam metal roof elements pick up on the spacing of the vertical siding and help to stitch the vertical and horizontal building surfaces together.
On the interior, the material palette includes rich walnut finishes, a variety of limestone materials and textures, and accents of dark metal. In combination with intentional lighting design and placement, these materials provide interior spaces with warmth and refinement while also balancing this with a sense of industrial ruggedness that resonates with the site’s history.

Designed as a private, reservable retreat, the space offers an elevated setting for gathering, entertaining, and unwinding. Overlooking the course, the covered outdoor deck offers a front-row seat to the finishing hole. With seating for 32, ceiling fans, and heaters for year-round comfort, it is the perfect setting to enjoy a meal, share a drink, and watch groups finish their round.
Built with Sustainability in Mind
The clubhouse will use a geothermal ground-source heat pump for heating and cooling. This closed-loop system relies on a series of vertical wells that extend up to a few hundred feet into the ground. By circulating a fluid through this series of vertical wells, the system can absorb heat from the ground in the winter to heat the building and transfer heat from the building into the ground in the summer to cool the building. By relying on the relatively stable ground temperature throughout the year, this type of system can be many times more efficient than a more conventional approach.
A New Era for Victoria National
“Dormie Network is always looking to give our membership more, and a new clubhouse does just that,” says Wilson. “Dormie Network is redefining private destination golf with unforgettable experiences made for connecting, and we feel like this clubhouse creates a space and atmosphere where this is effortless. We are confident that our membership will be blown away when doors open in 2028.”
