The Custom Fitting Experience

The concept of custom golf club fitting is nothing new to the game. Early on, golfers became well-versed in custom club fitting—even when the club heads were carved out of a wooden block, and there were actual screws in the club face. To achieve the desired ball flight, experienced golfers would drill out coin-sized holes in the sole of the clubhead. These holes were filled with iron, to achieve a different weight balance in clubhead. The iron was placed closer to the toe or closer to the heel. All these weight adjustments would affect the ball flight. This is a far cry from today’s custom club fitting technology and experience.

Being fit into golf equipment that is properly built for each individual player is key to making the game more enjoyable for all skill levels. All vehicles have tires, but not all tires work properly on all vehicles. There are many types, brands, and size of tires. When you find the right tire for your vehicle that creates a smooth ride, maximizes control and fuel efficiency, you generally stick with that tire. Custom club fitting is no different.

What to Expect at Your Custom Fitting

Heading to your custom club fitting can be exciting and a little unnerving at the same time. The Dormie Network Institute professional team of instructors and master fitters enhance the custom fitting to not only improve your game, teach you more about the golf swing and fitting, but also make the process a fun, entertaining experience. All custom club fittings are held outdoors on a private section of the practice facility, with live full-length ball flight, and conducted off a variety of turf conditions. Trackman Launch Monitor systems are used with all custom fittings. The Dormie Network Institute custom club fitting program has all the latest equipment and technology from a wide variety of clubhead and shaft manufactures.

The Dormie Network Institute custom club fitting experience does not just stop with clubs. The golf ball you choose to play is the only piece of equipment that you will use for every shot, so you better make sure you have right golf ball for you in the bag. All DNI custom club fittings feature dedicated time spent to making sure you are playing the right golf ball. Our master club fitters utilize a Green to Tee approach when fitting the golf ball. Determining the performance and feel of the golf ball around the green first, with chips, pitches, and approach shots will lead to closer proximity throughout your round. Giving you more of those gimmies that all your buddies hate to see.

Custom club fittings are available as one-on-one private fitting sessions, as well as in group and corporate settings. Your network concierge can organize a great experience to add to your visit to any of our clubs such as wedge fitting and a short game clinic for your group after golf, alongside some cold drinks before dinner, or even a late-night driver fitting and long drive contest under the lights. The hospitality and amenities offered through our DNI programing will be sure to create lasting game improvement experiences for your closest friends and clients.
