Holes We Love: Victoria National (2nd Tour!)

Two of our favorites in Indiana
Brad Wilson, Head Golf Professional

If you know, you know: Victoria National plays modest for no golfer. Every hole presents its own challenges, and these two are my favorites.

Hole #2
Par 4 (197 – 442 yards)
A true risk-reward hole to get your round started. You have the ability to pull driver and sneak it up as close to the green as possible with a slight draw or you can play it safe and hit iron off the tee to a larger landing area. Hitting the fairway is so critical, being that there is nowhere to miss: left you are in the water, and right you are in a large fairway bunker or in the tall native grass. If you are able to hit the fairway, it is just a short iron into this getable-yet-challenging par 4.

Hole #16
Par 3 (95 – 208 yards)
Maybe the most beautiful hole at Victoria! The tee shot is very intimidating, with the entire green surrounded by water. The prevailing wind tends to come from the front-right portion of the green to the back-left portion. On most days, this forces you to start the ball out to the right and have it come back to the center of the green. Don’t over do it though, otherwise your ball is taking a swim! Finding dry land and making a par wins you this hole on most days!
